Fit the wall strap. It is the one instruction people skip and the only one that matters for safety.
Do I need to fix it to the wall?
If it is tall or has drawers, yes. An anti-tip strap is supplied with every unit that needs one. A loaded bookcase or chest of drawers can tip when a drawer is pulled out or a child climbs it, and the strap is the only thing that stops it. It takes five minutes.
How long does assembly take?
Between thirty minutes and an hour for most units. Everything you need is in the box — panels, fixings, the tool and step-by-step instructions. Lay the parts out and count them against the list before you start.
How much weight will a shelf hold?
The per-shelf load is in the description. Spread the weight rather than stacking it all at one end, and put the heaviest things on the lowest shelf — it is more stable and it looks better.
Can I put it in a bathroom or garage?
Not ideally. Engineered wood swells if it gets damp repeatedly, and that damage is not covered. A heated, dry room is what these are built for.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. It needs to go back flat-packed, so keep the box until you are sure.
