Sustainability
Making beds to order rather than to forecast is the single biggest thing we do here. Nothing is built speculatively, so nothing is discounted to clear a warehouse or broken up because it did not sell.
Timber
Frames are solid kiln-dried hardwood from managed sources. Solid timber is heavier and more expensive than the engineered board most beds are built from, and it is the reason a frame can be repaired rather than replaced.
Built to be repaired
Frames are screwed and corner-blocked rather than glued and stapled, so a joint can be re-tightened and a slat replaced. A bed that lasts fifteen years is worth more, environmentally, than any recycling scheme.
Packaging
Beds are wrapped for transit and unwrapped at your door — the crew take every scrap away with them for recycling, rather than leaving you with it.
What we are still working on
Our foam is not yet from recycled stock, and our delivery fleet is diesel. We would rather say so than claim otherwise.
