Setting up
The base and legs bolt on in minutes. Power-lift models plug into a standard socket.
Free delivery to most of mainland UK. Some Scottish highland, island and Northern Ireland postcodes carry a surcharge, shown at checkout before you pay.
How much weight will it take?
The maximum user weight is listed in the description for every chair. Do not exceed it — it is the figure the frame and, on lift chairs, the motor were tested to.
How does a power-lift chair work?
A handset raises the front of the chair and tilts it forward so you can step out of it rather than push yourself up, and reclines it back the same way. It plugs into an ordinary socket. Leave a clear gap behind the chair for the recline — the distance is in the description.
Is there much to assemble?
Not much. The legs or the star base bolt on, and the back clips into the seat on most models. Tools and instructions are in the box, and it takes about fifteen minutes.
Will the swivel or rocking action wear out?
The mechanisms are rated for domestic use and covered by the twelve-month guarantee. Keep the moving parts clear of trailing rugs and cables, which is what usually causes a problem.
How do I look after the fabric?
Vacuum the seat and back on a low setting every few weeks. Spot clean with a barely damp cloth, blotting rather than rubbing. Velvet recovers if you brush the pile back in one direction.
Can I return it?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Keep the box until you have sat in it for a few days.
